The Race to Belleza, Did I Do That?

It's been a while since I commented on the fashion in SL.

I haven't found it necessary to keep commenting or if you will venting on the fashion in SL because we the community show our approval or disapproval of what is being sold daily. Most of us do not walk around in our under garments or with a breast exposed. I wish the designers would get a little clue that it is important to not only create but also to go out and see what is trending when we are in public. Get out from behind your desk for a change please.

Yes, I agree there are many who LOVE to see and photograph themselves as a  Porn Star pinups on their Flicker pages. But ask yourselves,  what are we wearing when we actually go into the mainstream world of SL?

SO... this weekend there was the rush to see a NEW Better BELLEZA Body! Personally, I have always been and will continue to be a Belleza Loyalist. HOWEVER!! the disappointment I felt when I acrually experienced the GEN X release!

Yes, I know you all can't wait to have a vagina that opens!!  Oh how lovely, NOT. And I have to say the attention to detail on the rest of that body was a failure in my opinion.  Her feet are less than lovely than her predecessors.  The previous versions all had lovely detailing on the hands and feet, all over for that matter.  I didn't see that same care taken with Gen X. The torso and knees have nice details, the arms  not so much. A pointy nipple, well ok.  But seriously what was wrong with Venus, Isis and Freya? For me it was always and only those dark HUDS. The dark huds have all been the only part of all the mesh avs that was challenging. So when I bought my mesh body I paid special attention to skin art details on each designer creation. If I wanted a GenX look I would appreciate they give us the same old  attention to skin and  body part details of the past as well as they give us a light and dark option that is on the Gen X Hud. Sadly loyalist, we probably will not see that hud upgrade happen for Venus, Isis or Freya. However, they will still remain my mesh avatars of choice.

I would pay money for the HUD color upgrade, but I will not pay money for cave Girl feet and hands, the inferior skin, no bom features, or a Vagina that opens and closes. I found myself asking this....

Why did I need to rush to see maybe get something that was going to set me back 5500L for a single version that looks like all the other poorly skinned and detailed mesh avatars that I didn't buy because I found them to be inferior creations that lacked detailed features? I refuse to buy just anything just for more clothing options. I'll remain loyal to the old school Belleza Bodies, but I'm not wasting money to look a lot uglier.

BTW, BF agreed GENX is not HOT. We wasted an evening trying to get in the region, looking for the demo, then at home trying it on me to see if it was hot. What a waste of time! You can change all the lighting you want to sell sex no matter which avatar you wear,  but in the text box we all look the same.

Personally, I am requesting that Belleza take the time to upgrade the old hud. Make it as visually pleasing with its old features easier to read. I don't need a trap door down under or pointy nipples or cave girl feet. Sell a light colored hud for the old avs as an accessory for my old body. But in my personal, very personal opinion, way too much time was wasted to create a cash trapping Snatch with no other visually pleasing upgrades. Looks Matter!

I remain the Cruelest, truth telling, no mincing of words Blogger about fashion in SL.

Making a Come Back

Silence was not meant to praise.

Watch me make a come back!

Be Afraid!

Being Your Best You In Second Life, or Are You?

Ever feel like this when you are visiting new places?

Three months ago I started this blog to hope to get the attention of clothing designers in Second Life. I haven't had much luck to be honest. Doesn't it mean I  I give up. I'm more encouraged  than I was when I started this blog.

I shop... window shop actually for the same reason I wrote this blog.  The clothing designers in Second Life have taken to selling nothing  that makes me feel like a lady.

When I go exploring in Second Life I don't go in my under garments. I go fulling dressed. I wear clothing so I don't attract the wrong crowds or friends. It is always nice to be complimented on a great outfit. Sadly designers not many of you catch my eye which means not many of you get compliments or my Lindens.

As for that guy who is hovering over me, at least I can honestly say its not because I'm hanging out in my underwear. He's just a troll looking for a free snack from my goody box...  Sir, my goody doesn't come cheap Darling, its price is  friendship and loyalty. Sweet words the night we met weren't enough.

Speaking of  Friendship and loyalty, just because you remembered my "hot av" after all these years in my contacts list doesn't mean I was interested, you just got lucky you didn't get culled for other reasons. It amazes me how many old friends have returned hoping to score this time when they couldn't to begin with. What is funny is the opening line, "I'm not going to hit on you," but  you did and failed.  Now my name sits on the shelf again. I'll need you for something one day but it won't be for a roll in the sack.

Essenz and My Confusion At Check Out

Here as in SL I have a voice and a mind that is capable of thinking and reasoning. Maybe I spend too much time thinking. Maybe you do not put enough effort into your reasoning. My belief is that if you are in Second Life trying to support your real life wouldn't it be vital for you to also make sure you customers are happy with their purchases and give them the benefit of the doubt that a mistake was honestly made on a purchase when they come to you about? Is 900L that important to you that you wouldn't do something to make person happy who sacrificed it to you accidentally?

Case in point, I spend an hour looking at a pair of "Essenz Spain" shoes. They were more than I make a day in SL, having them was going to mean sacrifice. I work very hard as a entertainer in SL hoping to make enough just to have a modest piece of a sim and my cost of doing business with no room for error.  Trinkets are a luxury, there is no hopes of making real money to support anything, nor is it my goal.

So I looked at the pretty demo shoes for an hour. My screen I thought was focused on the right fat pack and shoe box. Finally after lamenting for over an hour made the click... ON THE WRONG SHOE!  What was worse it was even the ones I thought are ugly!!

I admit this has happened to me one other time three years ago and the solution that the shop owner made was "ok so pick the one you really wanted". We both apologized and walked away happy.  She got some money from me and continues to. I tell all my friends  how nice she is, I send her new customers often to this day and I make it a point to always shop from her label.

Here my name says it all... hiding behind this name I can say that the owner of Essenz will never get another Linden from my SL Avatar (my name doesn't matter. Any avatar can make a miss click and most of us have in Sl and Amazon) .  I honestly and sadly made a mistake when bought this in my opinion Fugly product from her.  The accident cost me the price of her Fat Pack.

I honestly believed she would be compassionate and caring. I believed this so much I spent the money on the shoe I really wanted and loved, I mean its not my habit to make these mistakes and when I had those few times in the past the owners of those shops understood  they make pixel art that theirs are labors of love but no actual materials are lost.

When I conversed Miss Senzati0n Domenitzo she was rude to me about the mistake and had a greedy attitude. So to you I say I hope you continue to think you are sensational because I'm going to spend my time making sure voice and  my opinion of you and your greed will be recognized by my readers. I will hope my friends and readers walk past your art. Me, I lost two days of hard earned tier for a innocent accident that I regret every purchase i made from you that made from you that supports your real life. Now the Martinique shoes are in my "Fuglie Shoe" folder.

Furthermore, I will never shop her items again. My reasoning... as an entertainer its my HOPE (emphasizing that word strongly) to give people a good experience, I only get one chance to do it right. Well the makers of visual art have 10000 plus chances to get it right.  Me, I have even gone so far as to return money to people who I felt had a less than fun time at one of my shows. Its good business, we all make mistakes. We all work hard for our money and a good reputation matters to me. I also gives me another chance to make it right.

As Second Life and real life merchants we have a choice to treat everyone well, so customers will return to spend more money. Any disappointment will at some point cut into our profits margin later.

I sign off on this as Cruella De SL.  But in SL the avatar you upset, who was a regular returning customer, is speaking out to all who will listen about your cruel attitude of her innocent mistake. Readers my comment is Don't buy from this greed driven artist. Buy Beware!

Fashionista are you dating a Troll?

 Oh lord, Not again!

So Ladies of SL,  do you labor over what to wear to look stunning for his special date with you?

He arrives only to find him dressed in that same SL uniform he calls his clothes. Males in SL don't think its necessary to change their clothes, but they have no trouble admiring how we look in ours. Guys... we look...  damn we look. Take the  time to impress us, at least buy a few fat packs and change the color of your  shirt and jeans. You are only a few clicks from looking handsome!

At least he has some style.

I am Paying for Pretty?

Let's talk about those prices we are all having to pay!

Some Designers are of the impression we will pay a high price for just about anything just because it's mesh. I say stop and think, 'is this costing me the price of something I can buy in real life,' a item that will allow me a chance to touch it and feel it on my real life self? I always ask myself, "can go to a real world store with this money your charging me for your 'I'm so proud of this' precious fatpack?' Remember these are pixels Baby!

At the same time is there nothing better in Second Life than to feel pretty if you are a SL Lady and handsome if you are a SL Male. This blogger wants to look pretty and loves a handsome man at her side, but I don't want to look like he picked me up on the corner of Avenue Do Me and Slut Boulevard.

I would like to be admired for my style, my grace, and for making someone smile when they spend time with me. More important I don't want my clothes to sign checks my body and mind are not ready to make good on. We all know some  people in SL come to sell their "goodies" (the word I'm choose to use,) but not all of us want to sell the "goodies" at first sight.

I challenge the designers of SL to remember you came here to share your artistic talents.  However, lately when I go to your personal shops or any of the many events in SL it makes me feel like designers are pimping my sex for me. Personally, I'd like to be a Lady of distinction first... not an unwrap gift on a street corner who paid a very high price to get someone to look at me as dessert before dinner.

Why The Name

Why I started this Blog:
Some will call me a SL Fashion Griefer, others will call me a breath of fresh air in our community. Either way,  I always want to speak our minds after listening for far to long. So beware of this blogger, she needs to be impressed.

Creators impress me, I dare you! My requirement is that you be sure you created something note worthy. Scorn me because as one of the "Fashionista" of SL.. my name tells it all (Meow.)

In all seriousness what have you created?  Are you making us all into clones when you textured that whatever you bought from a full perm reseller by just painting with with a color, or are you truly trying to personalize it? Think about it. As I stroll the events hiding my identity from all of you ask yourself, "Can I impress Cruella De SL and her friends, or will I be their next topic of ridicule."

SL Fashionistas come along with me on my journey as I try to encourage those who design to create fresh new looks, give our minds a chance to shine, rather than our ASS-sets, and are you willing to offer us a value that allows us to spread our wealth in SL to more people in the community.
